[cg] tyras si pharros

Yes, I bet no one remembers that Giras actually had a last name XDDD

This picture is a bit unusual in that I couldn’t be bothered scanning the original so I took a picture of it with my phone, and then retraced the (really fuzzy) photo in OC. The colouring style is very experimental, no? I’m so used to PS brushes, which tend to be limited to the airbrush effect (which has distinct advantages and disadvantages). The hair here is done with the oil colour brushes, which gives a nice strand-y effect but not very good control over gradients. The clothes are done with a mix of watercolour and oil, which gives it that nice soft feel. I wish OC (or at least my super old edition) had cursors that indicated brush sizes ==; I never know how thick the stroke is going to be.

So this is Giras’ little brother, who is the same age as Vivant.

See, from the character design you’d think he is an intelligent and pleasant guy with an easy sense of humour.

Then again, I could say that about Vivant’s and Rossaer’s designs, which only goes to show that one should never judge by appearances XDDDD

I don’t have too much planned, although I have to admit he was the first new character I had in mind for Isshaten. I hope to make him a likeably normal guy, which would be a nice change considering the existing counterparts.

I think, after the mess that was Talgrith and Averron, it would be nice to return to a land where people are relatively normal. Most of the people Vivant met outside Isshaten – including Vivant himself, in fact – are pretty unusual personalities, and quite a few of them (all excepting Vivant, in fact) are heavily moulded by their environment.

And it would do the two idiots good to see how people their age should act. Not that I think they’d take it to heart ==;
